4-day hut trekking in the Ötztal valley
After an initial introductory meeting and a first overnight stay in the Ötztal valley, we head up to the Geigenkamm ridge above Umhausen with our certified mountain travel guides. From the Gehsteig-Alm, our path leads us comfortably up to the Erlanger Hütte and the Wettersee lake. On the third day, the "Feilerscharte" at 3,000 metres awaits us before we descend to the Frischmannhütte. After a third overnight stay, we return to the valley on day 4 via the Waalweg trail and the Fundustal valley.
Tour information
Program / Schedule:
Individual arrival in Ötztal by 17:00, accommodation depending on the category booked in the centre of Umhausen.
Check-in and collection of the trekking information and starting pack directly at the accommodation.
In the evening (18:00 hrs): Meeting with the guide directly at the hotel, aperitif at the bar, getting to know each other, equipment checks, tour briefing and dinner together in a typical Tyrolean inn in Umhausen.
Breakfast at the accommodation, then pick-up by the hut taxi directly at the accommodation.
Drive up to the Gehsteig Alm near Tumpen (approx. 45 min journey time). Start of the hike to the Erlanger Hütte.
1st stage: 5.3 km / 833 metres ascent / walking time approx. 3 hours
Arrival at the Erlanger Hütte in the early afternoon, check-in, lunch at the hut, afternoon visit to the Wettersee lake (photo point), dinner at the hut
Breakfast at the hut, then set off in the direction of the Frischmannhütte:
2nd stage: 9.6 km / 800 metres ascent / walking time approx. 5 hours
Rest at Ebner See in Leierstal, then quite steep ascent (key section) to Feilerscharte at 3,000m, descent to Frischmannhütte
Arrival at the Frischmannhütte, check-in, chill out, dinner together at the hut
Breakfast at the hut, then set off in the direction of Hintere Fundusalm, descent via the "Köfler Waalweg".
3rd stage: 7.4km / 600m descent / walking time approx. 2 hours
Pick-up by the hut taxi (Taxi Scharfetter) from the Vordere Fundusalm, return to the hotel in Umhausen around midday, departure.
